Google Revenue Statistics 2026: Search, Ads, YouTube and Cloud

It’s difficult not to think of Google when discussing technology or the internet. Google has been the most popular search engine for desktop and mobile users since the dawn of the digital revolution.

Almost every statistic published as “Google revenue” is actually one of six different numbers, and they differ by hundreds of billions of dollars.

Alphabet reports in layers, and getting them straight is most of the work on a page like this:

  • Alphabet total revenue is everything the parent company earns.
  • Google Services is the search, advertising, YouTube, subscriptions, platforms and devices business. It is most of Alphabet but not all of it.
  • Google advertising sits inside Services and combines three reported lines: Search & other, YouTube ads and Google Network.
  • Google Search & other is the largest single line, and the closest thing to “what Google earns from search”.
  • Google Cloud is reported separately from Services, not inside it.
  • Other Bets is everything else Alphabet owns, and is tiny by comparison.

Every figure below names the exact line item and the period, annual or quarterly, that Alphabet reported it for. There is no per-second or per-day arithmetic here: dividing audited annual revenue by the number of seconds in a year produces a precise-looking number that tells you nothing the annual figure did not.

Key Google Revenue Statistics for 2026

  • Alphabet reported $402.836 billion in total revenue for 2025, up from $350.018 billion in 2024.
  • Google Services generated $342.721 billion of that, and Google advertising $294.691 billion.
  • Google Search & other alone brought in $224.532 billion, the single largest line.
  • YouTube advertising reached $40.367 billion in 2025.
  • Google Cloud generated $58.705 billion for the year.
  • Alphabet’s Q2 2026 revenue was $119.796 billion, up 24% year over year.
  • Google Cloud revenue grew 82% in Q2 2026 to $24.768 billion, with operating income more than tripling to $8.814 billion.
  • Alphabet’s Q2 2026 operating income was $40.770 billion, up 30%.

Alphabet and Google Revenue

These are Alphabet’s audited totals. Note which entity each one belongs to, because the difference between Alphabet and Google Services is about $60 billion.

1. Alphabet generated $402.836 billion in revenue in 2025.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 results)

Alphabet reported total revenues of $402.836 billion for 2025, up from $350.018 billion in 2024, growth of about 15%. It was the first year the company passed $400 billion.

This is Alphabet, the parent, not Google. The figure this page previously carried, roughly $182.5 billion for 2020, means the company has more than doubled in five years.

2. Google Services accounted for $342.721 billion.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 results)

Google Services, the segment covering search, advertising, YouTube, subscriptions, platforms and devices, generated $342.721 billion in 2025, about 85% of Alphabet’s total.

If an article says “Google made X”, this is usually the number it should be quoting, and usually is not. The remainder of Alphabet’s revenue comes from Google Cloud, which is reported separately, and Other Bets.

3. Alphabet’s Q2 2026 revenue reached $119.796 billion, up 24%.

(Source: Alphabet Q2 2026 results)

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Alphabet reported $119.796 billion in revenue against $96.428 billion a year earlier, growth of 24%, or 23% in constant currency. Google Services grew 15% to $94.540 billion.

A quarter is not a year, and this one is running well ahead of the annual rate, which is a reminder not to annualise it. Fiscal 2026 does not close until December, so no full-year 2026 figure exists yet.

Profit and Company History

Profit has its own vocabulary problem: operating income and net income are different measures and should not be swapped casually. The figures here use operating income consistently.

4. Alphabet’s Q2 2026 operating income was $40.770 billion.

(Source: Alphabet Q2 2026 results)

Operating income for the quarter reached $40.770 billion, up 30% from $31.271 billion a year earlier, growing faster than the 24% revenue increase.

Operating income is profit from operations before interest and tax, and it is the measure Alphabet leads with by segment. Margins expanding faster than revenue is the pattern across the whole business right now, and the Cloud figures below show why.

5. Google was already profitable before it went public.

(Source: historical filings)

Google earned more than $100 million in profit in 2003, the year before its IPO, and net income of close to $400 million in 2004 when it listed.

Worth keeping as scale context rather than as a current statistic: Alphabet now earns more operating income in a single quarter than it earned in revenue across its entire pre-IPO history.

6. Other Bets generated $1.537 billion in 2025.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 and Q2 2026 results)

Other Bets, the Alphabet segment holding Waymo, Verily and the rest of the non-Google businesses, generated $1.537 billion in 2025 and $382 million in Q2 2026.

For scale, Other Bets produces roughly one third of one percent of Alphabet’s revenue. It attracts attention disproportionate to its size, and treating it as a meaningful part of Alphabet’s current financial picture overstates it considerably.

Where the Revenue Comes From

This is the breakdown that matters, and the one most often garbled. Each figure below is a line item Alphabet reports by name.

7. Google advertising brought in $294.691 billion in 2025.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 results)

Total Google advertising revenue was $294.691 billion in 2025, roughly 73% of Alphabet’s revenue. In Q2 2026 it was $81.629 billion, up from $71.340 billion a year earlier.

Advertising is not a single product. It combines Search & other, YouTube ads and Google Network, and those three behave very differently, as the next stats show. For a finance-focused breakdown of Search, YouTube, Cloud, subscriptions and Alphabet’s changing business mix, see these Google revenue statistics.

8. Google Search & other generated $224.532 billion.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 results)

Search & other was $224.532 billion in 2025, the single largest line in Alphabet’s accounts, and reached $63.271 billion in Q2 2026, up 17% year over year.

Search alone is bigger than Google Services minus advertising, bigger than Cloud several times over, and bigger than most companies on earth. The old framing on this page, that Search contributed “more than 57% of total revenue”, was a calculated share across mixed segments; the reported dollar figure is cleaner and does not drift as the segment mix changes.

9. YouTube advertising reached $40.367 billion.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 results)

YouTube advertising revenue was $40.367 billion in 2025 and $11.055 billion in Q2 2026, up 13% year over year.

Note the word advertising. This is not total YouTube revenue: subscription income from YouTube Premium and YouTube TV is reported inside Google subscriptions, platforms and devices, not here. Anyone quoting this as “what YouTube makes” is understating the platform.

10. Google Network revenue is shrinking.

(Source: Alphabet Q2 2026 results)

Google Network, the business placing Google ads on third-party sites, brought in $7.303 billion in Q2 2026, slightly below the $7.354 billion of a year earlier.

It is the only Google line going backwards, and it matters because it is the part of the advertising business that depends on the open web rather than on Google’s own properties. Every other line grew by double digits.

11. Google Cloud revenue grew 82% to $24.768 billion in one quarter.

(Source: Alphabet Q2 2026 results)

Google Cloud generated $58.705 billion across 2025, then $24.768 billion in Q2 2026 alone, up 82% from $13.624 billion a year earlier. Cloud operating income more than tripled, from $2.826 billion to $8.814 billion.

This is the most dramatic change on the page. When the previous version of this article was written, Cloud was generating about $4 billion a quarter and losing roughly $1 billion doing it. It is now both Alphabet’s fastest-growing segment by a wide margin and substantially profitable, with a quarterly run rate approaching the whole of 2025’s revenue.

12. Subscriptions, platforms and devices made $48.030 billion.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 and Q2 2026 results)

Google subscriptions, platforms and devices generated $48.030 billion in 2025 and $12.911 billion in Q2 2026, up from $11.203 billion.

This combined category covers YouTube Premium and YouTube TV, Google One, Play Store revenue and Pixel hardware. Because it is combined, none of those can be broken out: Alphabet does not report Google Play revenue separately, which is why the old “Google Play revenue nearly reached $40 billion” claim has gone. That figure was a third-party estimate of consumer spending, not Alphabet revenue, and consumer spending is not what Alphabet keeps.

13. Alphabet’s business mix has shifted.

(Source: Alphabet FY2025 results)

Putting 2025 together: advertising $294.691 billion, subscriptions, platforms and devices $48.030 billion, Cloud $58.705 billion, Other Bets $1.537 billion.

Advertising still provides about 73% of Alphabet’s revenue, so the characterisation of Google as an advertising company remains fair. But Cloud at $58.705 billion is now larger than YouTube advertising and growing many times faster, and it has gone from a loss-making investment to a profit centre. That is the structural story the old version of this page, written when Cloud was losing money, could not have told.

Wrap Up

Alphabet passed $400 billion in revenue for the first time in 2025, at $402.836 billion, and is growing faster now than it was: Q2 2026 revenue rose 24% and operating income 30%. Advertising remains the engine at $294.691 billion a year, with Search & other alone at $224.532 billion.

The change worth noticing is Google Cloud. It grew 82% year over year in the most recent quarter and turned a $2.8 billion quarterly operating profit into $8.8 billion. A business that was losing about a billion dollars a quarter when this page was first written is now the fastest-growing part of one of the world’s largest companies.

And the habit worth keeping: name the line item. Alphabet total revenue, Google Services, Google advertising, Search & other, YouTube ads and Google Cloud are six different numbers spanning a range of several hundred billion dollars, and most confusion about Google’s finances comes from quoting one of them under another’s name.
