BigRock is one of the many hosting companies worldwide that operate under the EIG hat. The Endurance International Group acquired BigRock for $160 million in 2014, along with three other sister companies — LogicBoxes, ResellerClub, and Webhosting.info.
Today, BigRock powers over 6 million domains, primarily operating in the Indian market.
The provider guarantees cheap web hosting in India, 99.99% uptime, and 24/7 local support.
You can choose between two server locations with BigRock — USA and India, with the latter data center located in Mumbai. The hosting accounts there are a bit more expensive than in the US due to the different cost of servicing.
The plans are quite robust — even the entry-level deals pack 10GB space and 100GB bandwidth.
The web servers are quite impressive— Intel Xeon E5 with 64GB RAM and CloudLinux. You can surely count on a fast and secure website for your Indian clients.
Also, consider the following:
Varnish is a web accelerator – an especially useful feature if you have a large or content-heavy dynamic website. It effectively stores data in the virtual memory of the server and lets the operating system decide which task should go where.
This all leads to reduced loads on your server and, subsequently – faster content delivery.
Secure Shell Access (SSH) is a tool that lets you log in your server machine remotely and execute commands. It gives you immense power and control over your site setup and configuration…if you know what you’re doing.
BigRock offers out-of-the-box SSH for all clients and their hosting sites in India. You can contact support for more information on how to activate the feature.
I can write a book about my horrible experiences with the EIG hosting support.
But every time I give them the benefit of the doubt because hey, who knows…
I am glad I gave the BigRock support team a chance. I had run into such poor support with the other companies that I had little to no hope.
What I got was instant assistance, clear answers, and an overall excellent understanding of my issues.
I guess BigRock kept its old support after the acquisition, and the difference with the standard EIG support sure shows.
Although I had a positive experience, some users have had a fair share of support hiccups, with operators even closing support tickets without a resolution.
BigRock User Reviews

Web hosting in India is a very niche product, so you will struggle to find reviews about India-based providers.
Most clients are happy with the low prices and the rich feature bundle they get for the price. But others ran into serious security and performance issues, and that’s something BigRock should look into.
BigRock Plans and Pricing
- Starter – from 99 INR/mo
- Advanced – from 179 INR/mo
- Business – from 317 INR/mo
Price-wise, things are also looking good for BigRock. You can host a single website on the Starter package for just 89 INR per month, which is a little over a dollar. If you are looking for something bigger, you can check the Advanced or Business plans, but you have to be prepared to pay at least double.
Here is one thing I noticed about website hosting services in India, though.
International hosts tend to give amazing discounts, but the fine print says you have to prepay for 1-3 years to secure the deal.
With Indian hosts, that period is most often ten years.
Not the best option for people with a fear of commitment.
BigRock has some of the best web hosting offers in India. The accounts provide plenty of resources, and the prices perfectly fit the needs of Indian businesses. The support team is also noteworthy.
